Muna AbuSulayman

Muna AbuSulayman (non-executive Director), from 1997 to 2004 was English Department Lecturer at King Saud University, from 2002 to 2007 was co-host of Kalam Nawaem on MBC, from 2004 to 2006 was Executive Manager of Strategic Studies and Research Initiatives at Kingdom Holding Company, from 2009 to 2013 was Secretary General and Executive Director of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation, and from 2014 to the present heads Directions Consulting, her own business, which is a strategic philanthropy advisor which both launches and advises others on philanthropic and CSR ventures. She attended King Abdulaziz UniversityInternational Islamic University (Malaysia) and George Mason University (USA), graduated in 1993 from George Mason University with a B.A. and M.A. in English literature, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Arab-American Literature from King Saud University. She is Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Development Programme (appointed in 2007) and is Global Ambassador of Silatech, a Qatar-based social initiative that works to create jobs and expand economic opportunities for young people throughout the Arab world (appointed in 2013). She is an Advisory Board Member of the Muslim Women’s Fund, a Member of Soliya, an organization devoted to improving communications between East and West through university education, an Advisory Board Member of Meedan which builds digital tools for global journalism and translation, and is the premier content translation website service for Arabic, a Director for the Friends of Saudi Arabia Association (2004), a Member of the Saudi Media Association, an Advisory Board Member of Peaceful Families Project, and an Advisory Board Member of Gem Schools.

Dr. Fawaz Al-Alamy

Dr. Fawaz Al-Alamy (non-executive Director) is a member of the International Trade Experts Team of the World Trade Organization and a visiting professor in trade law at London City University (UK). He is also a member of the boards of Saudi Transport & Investment Company (Mubarrad), Northern Trust Saudi Arabia, Al-Bakri Holding Group, and Al-Fatah Water Security Company. He holds a doctorate in energy physics (UK) and a business and finance diploma from Stanford University (USA). At various times in his career, Dr. Alamy has served as Chairman of the Physics Department, Dean of Environmental Studies and Chairman of the Research Center at King Abdulaziz University (Jeddah); the Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry for technical affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Chief Technical Trade Negotiator with the World Trade Organization; a member of the Privatization Committee of the Supreme Economic Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; a member of the board of Saudi Arabian Airlines; a member of the board of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority; a member of the board of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund; a member of the board of the Saudi Offset Committee; a member of the board of the Saudi Engineering Council; the Chairman of the Antidumping National Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; the Chairman of the E-Commerce National Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; the Chairman of the Trade and Environment National Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and, the Chairman of the Sustainable Development National Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Alamy is the author of Accession of Globalization and the Accession of Saudi Arabia to the WTO.

2010

Our Food Flavors Division is built on our value chain of quality, high-end, business-to-business sector products where the market potential for unlimited growth is consistent with our parameters for sustainability with a diverse and expansive consumer base. Through our Lazeez brand of food flavors, we enable our customers to satisfy the palates of consumers of all ages.

2004

A leap forward within our Specialty Chemicals Division, was our acquisition of a leading Construction Chemicals manufacturer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to give The Industrial Group a leading role in the growing construction, maintenance and repair sectors. The acquisition of SAAF was a milestone achievement and represented a strategic fit with our Adhesives Technologies Division.

1988

In keeping with our history of pioneering initiatives and building on our commitment to the business-to-business sector, we have kept our focus on providing performance and application driven products. The Group ventured into the Specialty Chemicals sector and launched the first adhesives technologies operation in the region, Ashwa Technologies.

Through this technology based sector, innovation and research and development became the center of our vision for growth. Today we are represented in this sector by our Ashwa brand with its stringent measures for quality.

Nabil Alyousuf

Nabil Alyousuf (non-executive Director) is an investor and entrepreneur, and is the Chairman of Al Jal Capital, a UAE-based private equity firm that specializes in investing in healthcare and education ventures in the Middle East. He is also the Chairman of Sadara, the largest real estate developer is southern Iraq and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai School of Government. Previously, he worked as the Director General of the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.

He helped established the Dubai School of Government, and led the development of Dubai Strategy 2015. In 2010, he was chosen as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He holds an MBA from the University of Strathclyde (UK), a master of science degree in operations research from the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arizona (USA).

Sameer Al-Ansari, Ph.D.

Sameer Al-Ansari, Ph.D. (non-executive Director) is the Chief Executive Officer of PEPlus Advisors and at various times in his career has served as: Chief Executive Officer of SHUAA Capital PSC; Group Chief Financial Officer of The Executive Office of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding LLC; Chief Financial Officer of Dubai Aluminium Company Ltd.; Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Dubai International Capital L.L.C.; Chairman of Ishraq Gulf Real Estate Holding; and Co-Chairman of Dubai Holding Investment Group.

Dr. Al-Ansari serves on numerous boards, including the boards of Hawkamah – The Institute for Corporate Governance of the Dubai International Financial Centre, and he is a member of the board of the DIFC Authority. Dr. Al-Ansari is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the ICAEW Advisory Board for the Middle East.

Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, Ph.D.

Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, Ph.D. (non-executive Director) is a member of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science and a doctorate in management and organization development. Dr. Binzagr is also the Deputy Chairman of Arabian Stores Co Ltd (Sarawat Superstores) and serves on the board of directors of various Binzagr companies, including Binzagr CoRo, Binzagr Avon, and Binzagr Barwil Marine Transport, in addition to serving on the board of directors of Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance (Middle East) Limited.

Dr. Binzagr is also the President of Wisaal, a company he founded for human and community development, and is a former member of HRH Prince Migrin Bin Abdel Aziz’ think tank established to advise on regional development in the Madinah Region. He is also a member of the Honorary Advisory Board at Effat University (Jeddah).

Waleed Ahmed Bahamdan

Waleed Ahmed Bahamdan (executive Director) is the Vice Chairman of Banawi Industrial Group, the Chairman of Dari Real Estate Development Co., the Chairman and CEO of Omnia Real Estate Co., the Managing Director of A.S. Bahamdan & Sons Co., a member of the board of Advanced Sale for Distribution and Communication Co., and a member of the boards and committees of various other Saudi Arabian companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science from the Purdue University School of Engineering and Technology (USA).

He is also a member of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Centre of Small and Medium Enterprises, a member of the board of Al-Bayan College, a non-profit Saudi Arabian education institution, and the Secretary General and a member of the board of the Al-Bir Charity Organization. Previously, he served as the Chairman of Dimension Management Consulting and the Vice Chairman of Advanced Sale for Distribution and Communication Co. He also held several management posts in the Saudi Arabian operations of multi-national companies such as Proctor & Gamble and General Electric.

Hussein A. Al-Banawi

Hussein A. Al-Banawi (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer) has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group since 2002. Sheikh Hussein first joined the Group in 1980 and was appointed as Division President in 1982 and Chief Executive Officer in 1985. He has a bachelor’s degree with a dual major in political science and business administration from Rollins College (USA) culminating in an MBA from Rollins College. Sheikh Hussein is also: a member of the Board of Directors of Hawkamah – The Institute for Corporate Governance of the Dubai International Financial Centre; a member of the Board of Trustees, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the World Waqf Foundation of the Islamic Development Bank; a founding member of The John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement at The American University in Cairo; a founding member of the Council of Overseers of the Jones School of Management at Rice University (USA); the founder of the Chair in Islamic Economics, Finance and Management at Rice University; a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Space Biology Group of the Center of Competence in Aerospace Biomedical Science and Technology at The Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Switzerland); and, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of The Effat Ambassadors Program for the empowerment of aspiring women leaders at Effat University (Jeddah). Sheikh Hussein is the author of The Unknown Leader.
